Earlier this month, Brad Pitt’s attorneys requested that Angelina Jolie send over her prior NDAs to demonstrate whether she might have considered the former’s request as “the deal-ender she subsequently alleged it to be.”

In the continuing legal dispute between Hollywood’s two biggest stars, Angelina Jolie is resisting Brad Pitt’s demand that she turn over her prior non-disclosure agreements. Jolie was first sued by Pitt in 2022 over the $500 million sale of the couple’s winery, Château Miraval. She had previously stated that she sold her business interest because her ex-husband had demanded that she sign a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would “cover Pitt’s personal misconduct,” including claims of domestic abuse. According to a Page Six report dated April 26, Pitt’s request for Jolie’s NDAs from any third parties is being referred to by the actress’ attorneys as a violation of her privacy, an effort to silence her and even “abusive.”

Earlier this month, Pitt’s attorneys requested that Jolie send over her prior NDAs to demonstrate whether she might have considered the actor’s request as “the deal-ender she subsequently alleged it to be.” However, according to recently filed paperwork that the news portal was able to access, the actress is now fiercely opposing that move, branding it as “abusive” and “unreasonable.” According to earlier court documents, Jolie said she broke up with Pitt after he reportedly first “turned his physical abuse on the children” on a 2016 trip to France.

In 2021, Yuri Shefler, a Russian tycoon, purchased Jolie’s 40 percent share of the vineyard. Since then, Shefler has called Pitt “an actor, not a winemaker,” making fun of him in court.

In further court filings, Jolie is asserting that disclosing the contents of other NDAs she has signed would violate the privacy of the other parties, which are likely to be brands, employees and film studios, since they would expose “contracts that include Jolie’s compensation or compensation she paid to third parties.”

According to Jolie’s side, in order for her to sell her stake to Pitt, she was asked to sign an unjustly “onerous” and “expansive” NDA that “covered Pitt’s personal misconduct, whether related to Miraval or not.”

After the ex-couple’s agreement collapsed due to this unjust NDA, Jolie sold her interests to a Stoli Group subsidiary. Pitt has challenged the Stoli deal, alleging that she sold the stock unjustly.

As per Jolie’s attorneys, Pitt aims to contend that since the actress has considered and/or signed numerous NDAs over her extensive career, the breakdown of the contract could not have been caused by his proposed NDA, which covered his domestic and child abuse.

According to previously acquired records by Page Six in 2023, Pitt had claimed that his “vindictive” ex-wife had sold shares in Château Miraval against him, after he was awarded shared custody of their six children. However, the verdict was eventually overturned.

The portal went on to report that a hearing has been scheduled for May 16 and a full trial is unlikely this year.
