Rashmika Mandanna is set to return as Srivalli, the wife of Pushpa Raj, in Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun. Speaking to Lifestyle Asia India, she opened up on the development of her character since the first film. Rashmika shared that portraying Srivalli has been both challenging and enjoyable due to its spontaneity.

“I didn’t really know my character Srivalli in Pushpa because I didn’t know the story, I didn’t know her as a character, I didn’t know how to play her, I didn’t know the world we were creating. I didn’t know anything. So, every day on set felt like visiting a playground,” she said.

In Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rashmika feels she understands her character and the story better. She describes her character in the sequel as more confident, saying, “Srivalli in Pushpa 2 is someone super sorted. Now I know the world that we are living in, I know the character I’m playing, and now it’s Srivalli 2.0, I can say.”

The first look poster for Pushpa 2: The Rule featuring Rashmika as Srivalli has finally been revealed. Rashmika is seen wearing a saree with heavy jewelry and sindoor on her forehead, sporting a serious expression. Check it out here:

Previously, Rashmika Mandanna teased Pushpa 2 when she promised that the film would be “bigger” than ever. “I can promise you that Pushpa 2 is going to be so much bigger. We gave some madness in the first film, in part 2, we know we have a responsibility because people have so much expectation from the film. We are constantly and consciously trying to deliver that. I just shot for a song for Pushpa 2 and I was just like, ‘How are you guys thinking about this?’ Everyone is so driven to make a good film. All of us have gone all out and are enjoying the process. It’s a story that has no end, you can lead it any which way. It is fun,” she told Pinkvilla.
