G-Dragon’s upcoming solo music will mark his return 7 years after his second mini album Kwon Ji Yong in 2017.

Days after reports surfaced suggesting the musical comeback of BigBang’s G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong) under the new agency Galaxy Corporation, his management label has refuted claims around the release of his new project in August. The label, in its message, clarified that no date for the comeback has been decided yet.

A representative from G-Dragon’s agency Galaxy Corporation was quoted by Allkpop as saying, “While it’s true that G-Dragon’s comeback will be some time in the second half of the year, no specific date has been set yet.”

Meanwhile, G-Dragon’s upcoming solo music this year will mark his return to the industry 7 years after his second mini album Kwon Ji Yong was released in June 2017. Talking about the musician’s comeback plan in a press release in South Korea, his agency confirmed, “He is working on a new album with the goal of returning with it in the second half of the year. Please look forward to it.” However, the agency avoided giving any additional information about his project. The announcement of G-Dragon’s comeback ignited widespread excitement and anticipation among his fans, who have been awaiting his comeback for the last few years.

Notably, it was in December last year when G-Dragon left YG Entertainment to be a part of the Galaxy Corporation. Since then, the company while providing insight into his comeback has been assuring that he will debut with a new track in 2024. The musician, on the other hand, has been carrying out various activities which also include the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in January in Las Vegas.

The musician, during this while, also announced a collaboration with Yoshiki. Yoshiki, further, is the leader and drummer of Japan’s legendary rock band X Japan. For the unversed, G-Dragon worked with YG Entertainment for 17 long years and the contract ended after the drug controversy surrounding the musician’s name in October last year.
